Most of these websites used university names close to those of real universities such as “Stafford University”, which is similar to the legitimate Staffordshire University.
Fake universities and diploma mills operate with varying degrees of subtlety and sophistication. Some, for a fee allow people to demonstrate their skills needed for a qualification and they issue a certificate to prove this. Others set up their website similar to real university. At a pretence of giving assignments to students which are never marked, they fool people into believing them to be real.
It is also possible for individuals to buy fake certificate from real university. This certificate looks very much identical to the real thing. With high quality printing equipment, holograms and elaborate seals it is made to look like the real one. Also, it is very much possible for conniving individuals with little bit of publishing and design skills to easily come up with convincing looking counterfeit degrees.
With employability at the doorsteps of many universities, it is the link with the commercial world where the dangers of fake degrees come into picture. In Talentchain all educational and employment details of an individual from school certificate, graduation degrees, payroll, work performance, to employee workplace character will be issued, managed & verified through a Blockchain enabled trust platform.
Data kept in the Blockchain is impossible to tamper with and when a certificate gets created and stored in the Blockchain, it automatically becomes immutable. With no single point of control for Blockchain, data once written cannot be altered. This ensures that a certificate is not a counterfeit one.
Also, Talentchain will enable registered and unregistered educational institutes to upload their Accreditation Certificates, campus images, videos and store them on Blockchain, thereby creating a trusted Institute dossier. Thus, Universities will have a secure and trust-based solution to safeguard their reputation and this would deter impostors from using their name and goodwill.
Student Talent Passport
Once degrees are created and issued on Talentchain to students, all individuals can use the system to manage, store and share them with the necessary people as and when needed. Students can even upload certificates to the chain themselves but, it will remain unverified unless notarized by the institute itself or some notary.
With the assistance of the AI driven dashboard students will receive different career recommendations for which they are eligible as per their awarded degrees, along-with its associated growth curve.
